StillSum

Privacy Policy

StillSum is a local-first personal finance app. We do not operate a developer data server, create user accounts, sell personal data, serve ads, or include third-party analytics SDKs.

1. Data processed by the app

StillSum processes information you choose to enter or import, including transactions, categories, budgets, recurring bills, quick templates, category rules, settings, receipt images, recognized receipt text, and CSV content. This processing supports the app features you request.

2. Local storage and protection

Ledger data and rolling recovery backups are stored inside the app’s private iPhone container using complete file protection. iOS restricts other apps from reading that container, and protected files are unavailable while the device is locked. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection, so keep your device passcode and Apple Account secure.

3. Optional iCloud sync

iCloud sync is off by default. If you enable it, StillSum mirrors ledger data to the app’s private container in your Apple iCloud account. The developer does not have a dashboard, server, or credential that can access your ledger. Apple processes iCloud data under its own terms and privacy policy.

4. Receipt OCR, camera, and photos

Receipt recognition uses Apple Vision on the device. StillSum does not send receipt images or recognized text to a cloud OCR provider. Camera and photo-library access is requested only when you choose those features.

5. Notifications, authentication, and widgets

Budget and bill reminders are scheduled locally. Lock Screen text avoids bill names and amounts. Face ID or Touch ID is used only when you enable App Lock; the app receives only the authentication result. Widgets can hide exact values and store their snapshot in the shared private app group used by StillSum and its widget.

6. Purchases

StillSum Pro offers auto-renewing monthly and annual plans and a lifetime non-consumable purchase. Apple processes purchases through StoreKit and provides the app with product and entitlement status. Your ledger, receipts, and categories are not included in purchase data sent to Apple or the developer. Apple controls payment, subscription management, and refunds.

7. CSV export and user-directed sharing

CSV import and export are processed locally. When you export or share a file, it leaves StillSum’s protected container and its privacy depends on the destination and recipient you select. Avoid sending private financial files to support unless necessary.

8. Retention and deletion

Local data remains until you erase ledger data or delete the app. Use Settings > Privacy & Security > Erase ledger data to remove ledger records, backups, widget values, reminders, and a reachable iCloud mirror. Uninstalling the app may not remove an existing iCloud copy, so erase data in the app first. System-level device and iCloud backups are controlled by you and Apple.

9. Data collection and disclosure

We do not collect, sell, rent, or share ledger data. StillSum does not include advertising identifiers or third-party analytics. We may receive an email address and any content you voluntarily send to support; we use it only to respond and retain it only as reasonably needed for support and legal records.

10. Support website

This website is static and we add no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or marketing cookies. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may process technical request data such as IP addresses and logs under the GitHub Privacy Statement.

11. Children and international use

StillSum is a general personal-finance utility and is not directed to children. Because we do not operate an app data server, we do not transfer ledger content between our own systems or countries. Apple and GitHub may process their service data under their respective policies.
